FUJAIRAH // A two-year-old Emirati boy drowned in a swimming pool in Al Hinya area of Fujairah on Saturday.
The child’s father arrived home after Al Dhuhr prayers at around 12.30pm on Saturday but his son was missing, police said. The toddler, T M, was later found unconscious in his uncle’s swimming pool.
The family took the boy to Al Manama Health Care Centre but he was pronounced dead at 1.15pm. The funeral took place the same day.
The health centre reported the incident to the police and the case was transferred to the public prosecution for further investigations.
Police urged parents to keep a close eye on their young children and to take extra safety measurements at private swimming pools.
