The ticket prices for Expo 2020 Dubai have been revealed.

A day’s entry to the event, which starts next October, will cost Dh120.

There will also be a three-day pass, which can be used for any three days during the six-month duration of the Expo, for Dh260.

Entry for people over the age of 65, children aged five years or under, and people of determination, will be free.

Students of any age, children aged between six and 17 years, and carers of people of determination, will receive a 50 per cent discount on the full ticket price.

Single-day and three-day tickets will go on sale to international travellers via resellers in bundled packages from next month, while the general public will be able to buy their tickets from April 2020.

Visitors will also be able to buy monthly and season passes directly from Expo from next October. Details will be announced later.

“With less than 550 days to go before the biggest event ever to be held in the Arab region, excitement is building fast,” said Sanjive Khosla, deputy chief of sales and marketing at Expo 2020 Dubai.

“We aim to be a World Expo that is accessible to all and believe the ticket prices and concessions will help us achieve that ambition. We can’t wait to welcome millions of visitors from around the globe, as we make every effort to ensure that our welcome is warm and reflective of the rich Arabic tradition of hospitality.”

The event will include 60 live shows a day, new technologies, performances from famous artists, daily parades and more than 200 food and beverage outlets serving cuisine from around the world.

"There will be site -wide celebrations on special days such as Diwali, UAE National Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year and International Women’s Day,” said Gillian Hamburger, senior vice president of programming for Expo 2020 Dubai.

“At Expo 2020, we’re not only welcoming the future, but also welcoming the fun.”

The Expo village will include three themed districts – opportunity, mobility and sustainability – along with 192 country pavilions.

The event, which will explore the theme Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, is expected to attract 25 million visitors.

More than 70 per cent of visitors to the event are expected to come from outside the UAE, organisers say.
