ABU DHABI// Syrian refugees have received more than Dh600 million in aid from Emirates Red Crescent.

The humanitarian aid programme, which launched close to the start of the conflict, operates in neighbouring countries, the state news agency Wam reported.

In addition, and in cooperation with Unicef, ERC has also provided polio vaccines to 1.6 million Syrian children, still living in Syria, at a cost of Dh2.6m.

In March this year, it was revealed that the UAE’s financial aid to millions of Syrian refugees has passed Dh1.34 billion.
