DUBAI // A 20-year-old student had sex with a man who advertised himself on the internet as a woman and stole a large amount of money from his safe, a court heard on Tuesday.
Turkish student M D is believed to have known that cross-dressing prostitute F B, 24, from the Philippines, was carrying a large sum of money so he got a juvenile, referred to as A in court, to fix a meeting.
The Filipino booked a hotel in April using his female cousin’s passport after agreeing a fee of Dh1,500 to have sex with A while wearing women’s clothes.
“A came at 6pm and, when I opened the door, he showed me an ID and claimed that he was a CID officer and accused me of having cocaine,” said the Filipino, who tried to run but was met by the Turkish student when he opened the door.
He said he was thrown on a couch and had his hands tied behind his back.
“They beat me up and requested the pin number of the [hotel] safe but I kept giving them a wrong one, so they took the safe,” the cross-dresser said.
Prosecutors said M D and A stole Dh40,000 along with other foreign currencies; 2,000 Saudi riyals (Dh1,958), US$1,600 (Dh5,876) and €1,000 (Dh4,127).
“After they stole the safe, I called on the hotel cleaners to help untie me after they left,” F B said.
Policeman A B told prosecutors that when the Turk was arrested he had Dh10,000 in his possession.
“We found a passport, plastic gun and the safe, as well as a blue bag and other items belonging to F B,” he said.
The Turk told prosecutors he had sex with the Filipino before beating him and taking the money. The youngster has been referred to a juvenile court.
At Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday, the student was not asked to enter a plea on charges of assault, robbery and having sex with F B.
The Filipino was charged with prostitution, impersonating another person, wearing female attire and having consensual sex with M D.
The next hearing is set for July 12.
