Curious residents have been urged to stay away from scenes of fire so that they do not hinder firefighters' efforts to safely tackle blazes.
The warning comes after emergency services were called out to a warehouse fire in Al Ain on Monday.
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence crews prevented the fire, which started in a warehouse storing wood, from spreading to nearby warehouses in the Al Ain industrial area.
An emergency services chief warned of the dangers of crowds forming to view the scene of a fire or accident.
“Civil Defence crews rushed to the site at 5.55pm on Monday, with the fire brought under control shortly after," said Brig Mohammed Al Ketbi, director general of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence.
He said the presence of people watching the fire unfold had proved a hindrance to crews' efforts to tackle the blaze as safely and quickly as possible.
Fire crews from Al Hili, Al Thaher and Al Aqabiya extinguished the blaze.
