SHARJAH // Police have announced a set of five rules for drivers to adhere to during National Day celebrations.
The new rules stipulate that traffic police will fine drivers who change the colour of their cars, have more people in the car than the vehicle is permitted to carry, tint the front window, blur the car’s registration number plates, and passengers or drivers who stick their heads out from the sun-top or car windows.
Col Abdullah bin Amer, director general of central operations at Sharjah Police, said: “On the days of celebrations, we will increase police patrols around the emirate, we will deploy more police personnel to ensure the safety of the people celebrating the joyous days.”
He also reminded drivers not to get carried away with their car’s decorations, as it will hinder them from driving safely.
Traffic police will deploy more radars during the national holiday to fine all those who drive recklessly and endanger civilians.
