FUJAIRAH // The 14-year-old Emirati girl who suffered severe fractures when she fell from the second floor of her school has left intensive care and is waiting to be moved to an Abu Dhabi hospital.
Her mother said her condition is improving and that she is now in a regular patient’s room after leaving ICU.
“Alaa is getting better and the doctors decided to move her to a regular room. We are still waiting for the green light to move her to a hospital in Abu Dhabi, where they will operate on her left arm,” said Rose Safonova, 39.
Alaa Al Abduli was sitting on a small wall between classrooms that had no fence when she lost her balance and fell to the ground at Lubaba bint Al Harith School, in Al Bidyah, near Fujairah city, on Tuesday.
An ambulance and police patrols received a report of the incident at about 9.30am and arrived to find the teenager unconscious.
She is currently at Khor Fakkan Hospital.
