DUBAI // Police searching for a man accused of rape arrested him in his car with another woman he had just sexually assaulted, the criminal court heard on Sunday.

Prosecutors said that in October, the defendant, Emirati F J, 29, had called one of his victims and told her he could get her a job in the armed services because his sister worked there.

“He said I would know him once I see his Mercedes, Porsche, and Range Rover cars,” said the woman, a 25-year-old Emirati.

“He also asked to marry me and help end all my financial problems,” she said.

She said they met at the Dubai Outlet Mall later that day and she got into her car.

“When he called a friend and told him he was heading to Al Ain I asked him to take me back to my car,” she said.

He refused and drove to a deserted area, where he started drinking alcohol and threatened her with gang rape if she would not have sex with her.

She said she tried to run away but he caught her and ripped her abaya, before forcing her to perform a sex act on him.

He then drove her back to the mall.

“On the way, a police patrol saw us and they noticed I was crying in a hysterical way so I told them everything,” said the woman.

Police captain M E, 31, testified that a patrol had been assigned to find the defendant that day because a different woman reported she was raped and threatened by him.

When the police patrol located him, they found the second victim with him crying and saying he raped her too.

A forensic expert, however, said in her report that there were no signs of resistance on the woman’s body.

F J denied a charge of forceful sexual assault saying that their liaison was consensual.

The man was sentenced to a year in jail. The other rape case is still ongoing.
