DUBAI // A Qantas aircraft carrying 410 passengers from Melbourne to Dubai was diverted to Sydney about three hours into its flight on Monday night because of an engineering issue.
“One of the engines had a slight vibration issue which was monitored by the crew and also our operations team in Sydney,” said a statement by Qantas.
The 410 customers were reaccommodated onto another A380 aircraft which took off from Sydney at 9.24am.
“We’d like to thank our customers for their patience. We will always prioritise safety over schedule,” the statement said.
Qantas flight QF 9 departed Sydney at 9.24am local time on Tuesday and landed safely in Dubai at 6.45am.
