More than Dh9m raised in Sharjah licence plate auction

The highest bid was for plate number 15, which sold for Dh1.4 million, followed by number 66 which sold for Dh1.14 million.

More than 600 people took part in the online auction of 100 vanity plate numbers, which was held between March 26 and April 1.

The highest number of bids, at 464, was for plate number 66666. It was sold for Dh559,000.

Nine three-digit plates were up for grabs – 120, 121, 200, 202, 221, 313, 660, 801 and 888, while 44 four-digit numbers and 45 five-digit plates were also available.

Brig Saif Al Zari, Sharjah Police Chief, thanked Emirates Auction for organising the event.
