ABU DHABI // Motorists will have to pay for parking at another 551 spaces in the capital.
Mawaqif paid parking has been switched on in the area near Al Falah Street to the north, Hazaa bin Zayed Street to the south, Al Karama Street to the east and Mubarak bin Mohammed Street to the west, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport said on Wednesday.
The surface parking bays, including one handicapped space, will be available in the area. Villa permit holders, however, can park without charge.
Standard parking, marked by blue and black kerbs, costs Dh2 an hour or Dh15 a day. Drivers are charged Dh3 an hour for premium parking, marked by blue and white kerbs, with a four-hour limit.
Supervisors will be assigned to the areas to ensure motorists have paid the correct fee.
