DUBAI // Two brothers and a friend raped a woman after a party at their hotel flat, a court was told.

The three men from Saudi Arabia, aged between 24 and 27, met their Moroccan victim, 32, on January 20 this year.

“We spoke for a while and I told them I was heading to another club but they invited me to their place in Al Muraqqabat and said alcohol was available,” said the woman.

After drinking together, two of the men fought while the other locked himself in the bedroom. The woman said she went to calm one of the men after the fight.

“I sat on the bed next to him to talk but he suddenly jumped on me, smothered me with the pillow then told me to keep quite and let him and his brothers finish it quietly,” said the victim.

She said the other two men came into the room and restrained her while she was raped.

“When he was done, he forced me to please their friend then he and the friend forced me to please his brother,” said the woman.

The three then packed up their belongings and left the apartment, but returned minutes later to find the woman trying to call police, she said.

“One of them snatched the phone out of my hand then they all left,” said the victim.

A medical report confirmed DNA found on the woman’s body and clothes matched those of the three accused.

“I swear it was not by force,” said eldest defendant.

The three were charged with rape, sexual assault by forcing the woman to perform a sexual act, and stealing her phone. They denied all of the charges in Dubai Criminal Court.

The next hearing is scheduled for May 31.

The woman was referred to Dubai Court of Misdemeanours to face a charge of consuming alcohol without a licence.
