DUBAI // A man who had an affair with his best friend’s wife and threatened to post a video of them having sex online if she did not pay him Dh30,000 has been jailed.
Indian P K, 35, denied threatening compatriot F M that he would post videos of them on the internet, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
“I did not make those threats and I gave evidence to prosecutors that she borrowed money from me,” said P K.
Prosecutors claimed P K threatened F M in 2013 and also last year. When she refused to give him the money, he said he would publish four videos of them having sex online.
When F M told her husband about the affair, he reported the defendant to police. P K confessed to having an affair while he and F M were in India.
“The husband told us that P K was his best friend and that he sought his help to solve some marital problems with his wife but, instead, he had an affair with her,” said policeman A A.
“He said that his wife informed him she had sex with P K in India and he that was blackmailing her. When we arrested him he claimed that the money was a loan he gave to the woman and she refused to pay it back.”
P K was sentenced to three months in jail to be followed by deportation.
