A marketing manager molested a 12-year-old boy during a game of hide and seek, Dubai Criminal Court was told. On March 10 the 35-year-old Indian man, who lived next door to the victim's family in Al Twar 1 in Al Qusais, saw the boy playing hide and seek and suggested he hide in his car.
"I was playing with my friend who was on a visit from India when I hid in his car, he then started touching me all over my body," said the boy, also from India. He said he tried to get out of the car but the man began driving. "He drove towards a villa then got out of the car to talk to some people, he got in and drove me back home but on our way back he didn't touch me," the boy said. He told his mother what happened who then called their neighbour and confronted him. "I heard her telling him that she would call the police," he said. The boy said he saw his neighbour again the following day and the accused tried to lure him into his car again.
The boy told his mother about his second encounter and his mother reported the incident to police. In court, the accused denied a sexual assault charge. The next hearing is scheduled later this month.

Who was Alfred Nobel?

Tax authority targets shisha levy evasion
The Federal Tax Authority will track shisha imports with electronic markers to protect customers and ensure levies have been paid.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, director of the tax authority, on Sunday said the move is to "prevent tax evasion and support the authority’s tax collection efforts".
The scheme’s first phase, which came into effect on 1st January, 2019, covers all types of imported and domestically produced and distributed cigarettes. As of May 1, importing any type of cigarettes without the digital marks will be prohibited.
He said the latest phase will see imported and locally produced shisha tobacco tracked by the final quarter of this year.
"The FTA also maintains ongoing communication with concerned companies, to help them adapt their systems to meet our requirements and coordinate between all parties involved," he said.
As with cigarettes, shisha was hit with a 100 per cent tax in October 2017, though manufacturers and cafes absorbed some of the costs to prevent prices doubling.
