DUBAI // A man will spend three months in jail after being convicted with molesting a housewife in a lift.
Prosecutors told Dubai Criminal Court that Filipina, MG, 32, took the lift to the car park in her building in Al Muhaisenah on June 15 this year when Pakistani MB, 32, got in on the first floor.
“As the door closed he touched my shoulders,” said the victim, who said she pushed MB’s hand away but he then touched her behind and chest.
“I was scared because we were alone in the lift so I didn’t scream.”
When MG got to the basement, she ran out of the lift.
She told her mother, who was waiting near the car, what had happened and then called police.
“I found the defendant talking to the woman’s family, he was tense and scared and when I asked if he had molested her he denied it. He said he was just in the lift with her,” said Emirati policeman KY, 32. MB denied a charge of molestation in court earlier this month but was found guilty and will be deported after completing his jail term.
