DUBAI // An unemployed man who attempted to molest a woman in a lift has been jailed for three months.
On May 18 this year defendant P P, 46, from India, got into the lift alongside Filipina victim M M, 36.
When they were both inside the lift, in a building in Al Muraqqabat, the defendant tried to kiss and hug the woman against her will, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
“I pushed him away and asked him to stop it, which he did,” said M M, who called police after she exited the lift.
At an earlier hearing this month PP denied a molestation charge. However, records presented in court showed he had confessed to police.
He will be deported after serving his term.
