DUBAI // A maid has been cleared of sexually assaulting a two-year-old child in her care.
The boy’s Emirati father, 41, alerted police after he noticed his son’s increasing tendency to touch women’s private parts.
“He became obsessed with touching women’s privates,” said the father, adding that the Ethiopian maid started working for his family at their home in Al Rashidiya in 2013.
“When she absconded my son became isolated and would remain in the dark and refuse to go out with us and when he is around any woman he would touch her privates,” said the child’s mother, 38.
The parents reported the maid, 32, to police when she absconded on October 6, 2013. She was arrested in December last year.
At Dubai Criminal Court, the maid denied a sexual assault charge and was found not guilty.
