DUBAI // A lawyer has been cleared of having more than 19 grams of drugs in a plastic bottle and two bags.
The Canadian man was arrested on July 16 after he was tipped off to police.
“We received information that he takes and possesses drugs,” said Emirati captain A R, 39.
He said when they searched the man’s home, they found 19 grams of drugs in a plastic bottle and two plastic bags.
He told police he bought the drugs from someone else.
While police say he confessed during the investigation, K S, 25, denied consuming and possessing drugs.
He was acquitted at Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday.
