Illegally sold medicine seized from Umm Al Quwain shops

Officials in Umm Al Quwain have seized medicine that was being illegally sold in supermarkets.

The drugs included ones treat chest diseases, diabetes, arthritis and other conditions, reported Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National.

Jumaa Jassem Al-Mansouri, head of the Department of Consumer Protection, said the shops were not licenced to sell these drugs.

They have been given warnings that they will be fined if they are caught selling them again.
