A US citizen who had a heart attack while travelling from Dubai to Seattle on Friday had his plane diverted to Tehran.
He was receiving medical treatment there, according to the director of Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation for Public Relations, Abbas Mosayebi. He said the flight made an emergency landing at Imam Khomeini's Airport.
A medical team was deployed at the airport and transferred the 52-year-old man, who has not been identified, to the hospital.
A statement from Emirates Airline confirmed the incident.
