The UAE announced 1,181 cases of Covid-19 on Friday, the highest number of daily infections recorded in the country so far.

A further 1,168 patients were given the all-clear. Total number of recoveries now stands at 86,071.

Three more patients died as the country's death toll rose to 424.

The UAE has recorded 96,529 cases since the start of the outbreak.

Officials said 107,187 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours.

Close to 9.9 million tests have been conducted across the country.

On Wednesday, the UAE reported 1,100 cases of the coronavirus and the number increased to 1,158 on Thursday .

Authorities have urged individuals and businesses to abide by Covid-19 rules to help bring down the infections.

In the first two weeks of September, police handed out more than 24,000 fines to those caught flouting Covid-19 safety rules.

The most common offence was failing to wear a mask, followed by exceeding the number of people permitted to travel in a vehicle. People in Dubai were responsible for most of the offences, authorities said.

On Friday, Dubai Economy fined 8 businesses and issued warnings to 13 shops for not meeting regulations designed to protect public safety.
