There has been a rise in advertisements for unapproved or illegal medication and services.
The Ministry of Health said that so far this year there has been 719 advertising breaches.
Of these, 121 were committed through Instagram, the MoH said, noting that they came from companies that were not specialised in the medical field, but were promoting medications and food supplements under a medical pretence.
Meanwhile, the MoH has completed a plan involving amendments to the cabinet decision Number 7 of 2007 on health advertisements.
The amendments aim to tighten control on health care-related adverts and the associating illegal practices, as well as expediting process for health advertising licences.
