The UAE recorded 401 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the country's total to 54,854.

Authorities revealed another 492 patients had beaten the virus, as the recovery tally moved to 45,140.

The death toll in the Emirates reached 333 as two patients died after contracting Covid-19.

The latest cases were identified after more than 50,000 further tests were conducted.

Most hospitals in the Emirates are now free of coronavirus cases.

Recently, private hospitals in Abu Dhabi confirmed they were clear of Covid-19 cases after discharging the final patient.

On Friday, it was announced that hospitals managed by Burjeel Medical Group, NMC Group and Ain Al Khaleej are no longer treating patients with the virus.

Authorities said anyone with respiratory symptoms should visit specialised hospitals designated for Covid-19 cases, including Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital and Al Ain Hospital.
