ABU DHABI // A mural of clay roses made by 400 school pupils is being displayed at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in an effort to bring art into the hospital environment.

The Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation wall of roses mural that was unveiled on Tuesday was created in partnership with Abu Dhabi Art Hub.

The 400 pupils, aged 12 to 17, were taught how to make roses using polymer clay, which were then glazed in different colours and developed into a mural portraying young children.

Salama Al Haj, deputy chief operating officer at SKMC, said: “Art in the hospital helps to develop an environment of healing, and creates a safe, comfortable and spiritual space for the healing process.”
