Government is pursuing UAE leaders’ directives to develop innovative strategy to address world's challenges

The UAE will continue to invest in services and mega projects that will shape the country’s future over the next 50 years, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, said on Wednesday.

The government is pursuing the UAE leaders’ directives to develop an innovative strategy to address the challenges facing the world, Sheikh Mansour said at the Ministerial Development Council meeting at Qaṣr Al Waṭan.

This was the first in-person meeting of the council since its recent restructuring.

Members reviewed the country’s strategic food reserves as they were briefed on initiatives to guarantee enough supplies at all times.

The council also discussed ways to regulate marriages so that couples were medically compatible and their children healthy.

They highlighted the importance of premarital medical tests that can detect genetic problems and help to avoid infectious diseases and those that may be transmitted through blood.

Timely detection of medical problems can help the country to climb global rankings for health and family well-being.

The council also discussed installing firefighting systems at the homes of Emiratis and residents to reduce fires.

Officials also reviewed Customs and trade agreements between the UAE and the GCC.
