ABU DHABI // The UAE and Costa Rica have amended rules related to a mutual visa waiver agreement.

The two countries agreed to change the rules for mutual exemption from pre-entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports.

The amendment added a clause on mutual exemption from pre-entry visas for holders of ordinary and special mission passports, reported Wam, the state news agency.

The agreement was signed today by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Manuel Gonzalez Sanz, Costa Rica’s minister of foreign affairs.

Sheikh Abdullah also emphasised the importance of strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Mr Sanz praised his country’s progressive ties with the UAE.
