ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has asked the official in charge of the UAE Haj pilgrimage mission about the well-being of the country’s pilgrims in the Holy Land.
Dr Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said Sheikh Mohammed called to check on pilgrims’ condition and the mission’s plans for Arafa Day and the following three days. Sheikh Mohammed asked Dr Al Kaabi to convey his greetings and best wishes to the pilgrims.
Dr Al Kaabi expressed appreciation for Sheikh Mohammed’s initiative, reported Wam, the state news agency.
More than 100 people died earlier this month after a crane collapsed in Mecca near the Grand Mosque.
