ABU DHABI // The family of fallen soldier Nasser Al Blooshi, who died this week three months after suffering injuries in Yemen, received condolences on Friday from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

During a visit to the condolence gathering, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces expressed sympathy to his family and prayed on his behalf.

“We are proud of our youth who demonstrated the highest levels of patriotism, loyalty, bravery and sacrifices in reflection to the values upheld by our forefathers,” he said.

A first sergeant in the Armed Forces, Al Blooshi, 39, was injured while participating in Operation Restoring Hope, the Saudi-led mission fighting Houthi rebels in Yemen.

He had been receiving treatment in Munich, Germany, after sustaining the injuries while on a mission to liberate Marib.
