Tarik Abdalla Ali Alhaway, 28, died after plunging four storeys down a hole in the floor of the under-construction building in Business Bay on Saturday.

The Crown Prince of Dubai expressed his sympathies while attending a mourning majlis in Al Warqaa, Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan had previously taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the fallen firefighter.

"Tarik, a martyr, will remain a symbol of self-sacrifice for the sake of the nation and the citizens' security," he wrote on Twitter.

"May God inspire his parents and relatives with patience and solace."
