Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, met his counterpart from Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Sheikh Abdullah and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke about the prospect of strengthening ties, particularly in the fields of economy, trade and health.
The pair also discussed ongoing co-operation to address the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to ensure equitable access to the vaccine.
Sheikh Abdullah congratulated Mr Qureshi on the completion of Pakistan’s pavilion for Expo 2020 and wished the country success in the event.
He also spoke about strong relations between the UAE and Pakistan, which he said were based on mutual trust and respect.
Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State, also attended the meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters.
