The Sharjah Government Media Bureau and the emirate's Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Department have launched the #GreaterThanCorona campaign to update people about Covid-19.

The social media initiative will run important updates to guide and educate citizens and residents on ways to protect themselves and their families from the virus.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of Sharjah Media Council, urged people in the emirate to learn and educate others by contributing to the campaign.

The main objective is to give out accurate information about the pandemic, he said.

“As governments, first responders and healthcare professionals worldwide tackle Covid-19 head-on, citizens can support their efforts by practising social distancing and staying at home,” he said.

“Misinformation or inaccurate news can put people’s lives at risk, now more than ever.

"That is why we have a crucial responsibility to communicate accurate, reliable and precise messages, which reflect the UAE’s Covid-19 response strategies.”
