SHARJAH // More than 7,000 sacrificial animals have been distributed in 50 countries by a Sharjah charity.
The initiative is part of Sharjah Charity International’s sacrificial meat project, carried out in cooperation with UAE embassies and charitable organisations in other countries, for Eid Al Adha.
The charity reached needy families in five more countries this year than last year, said Mohammed Al Zari, the charity’s director of project management.
This year, the charity distributed a total of 7,300 animals, according to Wam, the state news agency.
The charity was founded in 1989 by an Emiri decree, and carries out charity work in Asia, Africa and Europe, according to its website.
