DUBAI // The United Nations has recognised the Emirates Identity Authority for transforming its services into e-services, particularly with the development of the National Validation Gateway.
The Emirates Identity Authority won the United Nations Public Service Award in the category of “Promoting Whole-of-Government Approaches in the Information Age”, making the UAE the only country from the Middle East to win an award in this segment.
The National Validation Gateway enables governments, banks, organisations, as well as individuals to use the Emirates ID card online, offering a number of methods of identity authentication in online services.
The award was announced at the UN Public Service Forum, which was held in Medellin, Colombia from June 23 to 26.
