Armenian president arrives in UAE

The president of Armenia arrived in the UAE on Wednesday, and was greeted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

ABU DHABI // The Armenian president arrived in the UAE on Wednesday for an official visit.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met Serzh Sargsyan at the Presidential Flight Airport during a ceremony in which the countries’ anthems were played and the military fired a 21-gun salute.

Mr Sargsyan, who took office in 2008, is accompanied by a delegation including foreign minister Rasit Meredow, presidential chief of staff Armen Gevorgyan and other ministers.

Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, attended the ceremony.
