ABU DHABI // Three people from Thailand have been arrested for practising alternative medicine in Abu Dhabi without a licence.
Abu Dhabi Police arrested the suspects, who were treating customers using hammers, said Col Rashid Bourshid, director of CID.
They promoted services on social media and went to customers’ homes, charging up to Dh800 for treatment, without obtaining a licence from the Health Authority Abu Dhabi, police said.
Police confiscated the money the suspects had received and referred them to legal authorities, according to Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
Col Bourshid urged people to avoid receiving medical services from unlicensed doctors.
