ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi City Municipality issued 10 offences and seized nine vehicles that it said were used for peddling.
The ongoing campaign was carried out through Al Shahama Municipal Centre in Al Shahama and neighbourhoods including Seih Shuaib, Al Ajban and Al Samha.
Officials confiscated materials including honey, fruits and vegetables that were being peddled.
One of the campaign’s aims was to protect consumers against risks of materials sold by peddlers or in makeshift markets without licences.
Abu Dhabi Police, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the Emirates Red Crescent’s Preservation of Grace Project helped implement the campaign.
Over the past year, Al Shahama Municipal Centre has issued more than 36 offences against peddlers during inspection campaigns within its geographical zone.
