Worshippers are reminded to put their ultimate trust in Allah in this week’s sermon.
“This entire universe is run by His wisdom ... Not a single matter or creature bypasses Him,” the sermon says.
Worshippers are told to have faith in the One whose knowledge and wisdom is above everything.
The sermon highlights incidents from the lives of various Prophets that demonstrate this trust.
When Hajar, the wife of Prophet Ibrahim, kept asking him why he left her and their infant son, Ismail, in the middle of the desert, at first he did not answer.
Then she asked him: “Did Allah order you to do this?”
When he said yes, she replied: “Then Allah will not lose us.”
Another example is when the Virgin Mary discovered she was pregnant with Prophet Isa (Jesus) without having had a relationship with any man.
The chapter in the Quran on Mary, known as Maryam in the holy book, explains how she replaced her worries and grief with faith in Allah, and indeed Allah proved her innocence in front of her people.
After she gave birth, the verses say: “She brought him [the baby] to her people, carrying him. They said: “O Mary! Indeed you have brought a Fariya [an unheard mighty thing].
“Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman.”
Then she pointed to him. They asked: “How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?”
“He [Isa] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet.”
Worshippers will also be told that if you are positive in your belief in Allah, there will be positive outcomes in your life.
But if you have negative expectations, then there will be negative outcomes.
