A delegation from Noor Dubai Foundation, led by chairman Essa Al Maidoor, has visited The Carter Centre, a non-profit group in the US.

Jimmy Carter, former US president and the centre’s chairman, welcomed the delegation and presented a report on the progress of the trachoma elimination programme being conducted by the foundation and the centre in Ethiopia.

The three-year programme was initiated in January last year to eliminate the eye infection from the Amhara region, the part of the country where it is considered most prevalent.
