FNC leaders travel to Islamic parliamentary forum in Uganda

UAE delegation is attending sixth meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference Members.

ABU DHABI // A delegation from the Federal National Council, led by its chairman, Abdul Aziz al Ghurair, will travel to Kampala, Uganda today for a meeting with parliamentary bodies from other Islamic states. The group, the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference Members, was formed in 1999 in Iran. This will be its sixth meeting. Among the topics on the UAE's agenda is the issue of nuclear weapons in the region. Mr al Ghurair is expected to address the session.

UAE representatives are also expected to seek nomination to the union's executive, political and economic committees. There will be separate meetings of those committees, as well as sessions on legal affairs and human rights, the environment, women, and social and cultural affairs. @Email:[e-mail]
