Civil Defence took control of a fire at a warehouse in Mussaffah on Wednesday.
Smoke could be seen pouring from the unit, which was used for the storage of building materials according to a statement from Abu Dhabi Police.
The fire was brought under control before it could spread and cooling operations were started. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Brigadier General Mohammed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Director General of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, called for the need to abide by the requirements of fire prevention and safety and to ensure the maintenance of fire extinguishers.
He added that an investigation into the cause of the fire was under way.
