DUBAI // A retired police officer who raped a colleague’s 13-year-old daughter has been sentenced to five years in jail.
Police were tipped off about the 55-year-old, who holds a Comoros Islands passport, and arrested him with the girl in his car in Al Rafaa on August 11 last year.
“We kept him under observation and made the arrest when he met the girl and her brothers,” an Emirati officer told Dubai Criminal Court.
The defendant befriended the three siblings while they were fishing and told them he used to work with their father at Dubai police before he retired.
