ABU DHABI // Emirates Red Crescent has launched the second phase of a campaign to assist refugees affected by ongoing winter storms in Lebanon.
The latest phase of the Tarahamu campaign aims to reach 16,000 displaced Syrian and Palestinian families, in addition to 1,000 Iraqi families that have recently fled to Lebanon.
This is in accordance with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent.
An official source at the UAE embassy in Beirut, which oversees the implementation of the campaign, said food, mattresses, pillows, blankets and winter clothing has been distributed in the Lebanese capital.
