Some 8,900 bags of seeds have been distributed to farmers across the country in an effort to support increased production and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment handed out a total of 4 million seeds for various fruit and vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers and sweet peppers.
Sultan bin Alwan, Assistant Undersecretary for the Regions, said the ministry was keen on encouraging the adoption of modern farming practices in an effort to protect the environment.
The ministry supplies all necessary agricultural materials at the start of every season, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.
