Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will reach the mid-40s on Friday, while parts of the interior could reach 49°C.

In Dubai the forecast is for 44°C with 13kph winds, while Abu Dhabi should reach 45°C and winds of 15kph.

Along the coast and islands the maximum is likely to be 45°C and the mountains are expected to hit 39°C.

Humidity along the coast is forecast to reach 80 per cent while the interior could be at 70 per cent.

The National Centre of Meteorology said Friday would be partly cloudy with some low clouds over the east coast by morning.

There is a chance of some convective clouds forming in the east and south, associated with rainfall by afternoon.

The light to moderate winds, freshening at times, will blow dust and sand, which could decrease visibility over exposed areas.

Conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
