Energy production up 13 per cent in Abu Dhabi

Peak electricity demand rose by 11.4 per cent, with the hourly peak on August 15 last year reaching 9,749 megawatts.

The figure includes energy exports to other emirates such as Fujairah and Sharjah. The Abu Dhabi hourly peak was 7,849mw.

According to the report, the emirate produced 6.5 per cent more water last year. The amount of wastewater treated at sewerage plants also increased, by 1.9 per cent.
