A workshop to discuss the infrastructure and environment draft of the capital’s Emirate’s Plan was held by the General Secretariat of Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The workshop reviewed the draft and informed the authorities concerned about the objectives and programmes. The authorities also used the event to coordinate their roles, and set a clear and defined work mechanism. The scope of the plan covers several areas, including government work and specialised fields.

The infrastructure and environmental objectives are diverse, said Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Head of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee and Member of the Executive Council.

“They cover the transport network, the development of urban areas in a manner that ensures decent living to citizens, water and electricity utilities, and a sustainable environment, which concerned entities will be seeking to achieve in line with best practices,” he said.

The improvement of sea water and air quality, maintaining biological diversity and comprehensive waste management also fall under the environmental objectives.
