ABU DHABI // A travelling library will be in Al Gharbia from tomorrow making the first of a series of visits aimed at spreading "the book buzz" across the country.
The National Mobile Library bus, run by the Kitab group, will visit schools in Liwa tomorrow and Monday. It will then spend three days at Madinat Zayed in the Western Region.
Kitab is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Monika Krauss, the general manager of Kitab, said taking the bus to Al Gharbia was "at the heart" of the group's purpose.
"That means creating opportunities for people in all of our communities to access books and reading," she said.
"We hope this tour will spread the book buzz - and capture everyone's imagination."
Ms Krauss said Kitab had been "inundated" with enquiries from schools across the country keen for the bus to visit them.
"Over the next year, the bus will expand its tour with the aim of fulfilling as many community requests as possible," she added.
The bus will also feature at next year's Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, from March 2 to 7, which Kitab organises.

The drill
Recharge as needed, says Mat Dryden: “We try to make it a rule that every two to three months, even if it’s for four days, we get away, get some time together, recharge, refresh.” The couple take an hour a day to check into their businesses and that’s it.
Stick to the schedule, says Mike Addo: “We have an entire wall known as ‘The Lab,’ covered with colour-coded Post-it notes dedicated to our joint weekly planner, content board, marketing strategy, trends, ideas and upcoming meetings.”
Be a team, suggests Addo: “When training together, you have to trust in each other’s abilities. Otherwise working out together very quickly becomes one person training the other.”
Pull your weight, says Thuymi Do: “To do what we do, there definitely can be no lazy member of the team.”
