39 new school buses in RAK for coming academic year

RAS AL KHAIMAH // Emirates Transport in RAK has added 39 new buses to its school fleet for the coming year.

Obeid Al Barbaki, head of Emirates Transport in RAK, said the company was finalising preparations for the new school year.

The RAK branch is ensuring the fleet is ready, including overseeing technical requirements and maintenance to safeguard pupils, in addition to conducting a number of training sessions and workshops for drivers and bus supervisors.

Mr Al Barbaki said a total of 379 buses and 367 drivers will be allocated to public schools, while 47 buses and 44 drivers are earmarked for private schools. Another 26 buses have been allocated to Quran recitation centres.

There will also be 216 highly trained bus supervisors to ensure the safety of pupils on board and dedicated school bus lanes will be increased to 615.
