DUBAI // Two Asian tourists have been arrested by Dubai Police for allegedly having more than 9kg of crystal meth.
Police were tipped off last month about the men, who were aiming to sell the drugs in return for a large amount of money to be paid by an unknown man outside the country.
An undercover officer posed as a buyer and met with the 31-year-old suspect. The officer paid the suspect for the drugs and so he called his 28-year-old partner and told him to deliver the drugs.
Police arrested the first man and another group of officers arrested the partner in a hotel lobby as he delivered the drugs to another undercover agent.
Police found more than 5kg of the highly addictive drug in his backpack and another 4.6kg in his hotel room.
They were referred to prosecutors to face trial.

Du Plessis plans his retirement
South Africa captain Faf du Plessis said on Friday the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in two years' time will be his last.
Du Plessis, 34, who has led his country in two World T20 campaigns, in 2014 and 2016, is keen to play a third but will then step aside.
"The T20 World Cup in 2020 is something I'm really looking forward to. I think right now that will probably be the last tournament for me," he said in Brisbane ahead of a one-off T20 against Australia on Saturday.
