DUBAI // School pupils across the emirate have donated around 15,000 school supplies to less fortunate children as part of the “Stuff the Bus” initiative organised by the School Transport Services (STS) during Ramadan.
Essential school supplies such as notebooks, books, stationary, lunch boxes, school bags and more than 10,000 toys were donated by the schools to Emirates Red Crescent.
“We have received such a huge show of support from children, parents and the general public. We know that this will bring smiles to the faces of many children but also help support them to achieve their future dreams through helping to support their education,” said Col M L Augustine, managing director of STS.
“School supplies when put in the hands of children who need them, can make such a huge difference to a child’s self-esteem and help eliminate a huge barrier to success.”
Almost 30 schools took part in the initiative.
